CHILDREN

ASSIST facilitates a wholesome growth in the children who benefit through the  catalyst for change kids program consisting of the 70 free Evening study centres for improved academic performance and dropout prevention through organized strategies which has enhanced their learning abilities and regularize their attendance.

32 Neighbourhood  Children Parliament to promote education and exercise of human rights as means for building responsible leadership and citizenship through training, participative activities and celebrations.

Nutrition program has ensured a fradual improvement in the health of the children and the family bonding through mothers committee. Capacity Building trainings have been conducted to enable the staff to deliver quality service in the field, Advocacy and lobbying efforts have been undertaken to raise voice against violation   of child rights.

YOUTH

ASSIST focusses on strategies that strengthen youth, the most dynamic and vibrant segment of the population. This 'demographic dividend' needs to be captured with appropriate education, skills, health awareness and other enablers to enhance the development of citizenship and productiveness as they move into adulthood.

'Explorer for integration youth program' is concerned with enabling youth to acquire knowledge, skills and techniques which will help them in developing themselves as a productive workforce through better employability and entrepreneurship trainings. Further it fosters initiatives for unfolding the potential of youth through a constant process of self-evaluation and self-exploration.

It catered to needs of 424 youth in the age-group of 15-29 years. The target groups identified are (i) Student Youth (ii) Migrant Youth (iii) Rural Youth (iv) Tribal Youth (v) Youth At Risk (vi) Youth in violent conflicts (vii) out of school/dropouts (viii) groups with social /moral stigma (ix) Youth in Institutional Care, Young women, Youth belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged communities /groups through 7 Vocational Training Centers.

Partnership with Quest Alliance in the implementation of the "Skills to Succeed" has enabled ASSIST to harness the demographic dividend and transform them as the key agents for social change, economic development and technological innovation. Various activities were conducted to help them to explore the layers of the society as roots in search for nourishment by triggering their imagination, ideals, considerable energies and vision which proved to be essential for the continuing development of the societies in which they live.

Parents and the communities were actively engaged during the process of mobilization, placement and growth tracking venture which ensured the commitment of the adults to all-round development of the youth so that they can realize their full potential and contribute productively to nation-building process.

WOMEN

ASSIST envisions improved quality of life for women, men, families and communities through the empowerment of women to participate fully in decision making, essentially in gaining economic power to voice out their opinion and decisions at home and society thus paving way to achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability. 

ASSIST serves as a conduit in reaching out to the women in target areas through the District Coordinators.The members of Self Help Groups were supported with IGP and livelihood training programs to enhance their economic sustainability. Easy access to gain employability skills were created through the Vocational Training Centers for the women in the locality through ‘Learn and Earn Program’.

Partnership with the local NGOs, Government Departments and Banks have made our efforts fruitful in making women successful Entrepreneurs. Gender education to build a gender sensitive society and to mitigate gender based violence has been undertaken regularly.

ENVIRONMENT 

 ASSIST is driven by the belief that attaining our fundamental rights entails clean air, healthy oceans, resilient ecosystems and a global environment managed sustainably for the benefit of people and planet. 

The programs organized by the various centers were a compiled effort to strengthen the commitment of children, youth and women towards saving the environment from the spiraling pollution of air, water and land and the resultant global warming and climate change around the world.

The awareness programs and the efforts to plant saplings, distribution of seed balls and participation in the training programs conducted by NGOs are means to strengthen the urge to be actively involved in the efforts undertaken at the local levels.
